29th East China Fair sees trade volume of $2.3b
The 29th East China Fair, the largest regional trade fair in China, ran from March 1 to 4 in Shanghai.
This year's fair saw an increase in its exhibition scale and number of visitors and firms. Its trading volume maintained the same level as last year.
A total of 22,757 foreign visitors and enterprises from 111 countries and regions took part in the four-day event, a year-on-year increase of 2 percent. The top 10 countries and regions represented were Japan, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, the United States, Canada, Russia, the United Kingdom, India and Italy.
The trading volume reached $2.3 billion, and the top 10 countries and regions responsible for it were Japan, South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Hong Kong, Germany, Italy, Canada and Russia.
The 29th East China Fair aimed to become a platform to provide more market potential to participants. A number of high-quality purchasers were introduced to the fair.
Hangzhou Hengxin Import & Export Company from East China's Zhejiang province has broken into foreign markets in over 20 countries. Its household shoes brand, CORIFEI, has become popular for its unique design.
Shandong Intco Recycling Resources Co is specialized in collecting, recycling and reusing of EPS waste foam for over 10 years. A high-end hotel supplier, Qingdao Textile Group, has exported its brand “Pretty House” to various foreign countries and regions for years.
The East China Fair has given an “Innovation Award” to promote product innovation and foreign trade transformation since 2012. Thirty enterprises won the award this year.
